Michael Shabaka - Board Member
Michael Shabaka has over 15 years of business development experience working in both for-profit and not-for-profit firms. This experience spans some of the biggest employers in the world that include Cisco Systems, United Business Media, Reed Elsevier, TestAmerica Laboratories, and Goodwill Industries International. In addition, Michael has operated his own consultancy offering his business administration and marketing expertise to many prominent Bay Area employers.
As an African American man who holds a BA in International Relations and Business, an MBA in Business and Marketing and PhD in Organizational Behavior, he's aware of the challenges minorities have in today's competitive job markets, what it takes to get ahead, and what employers are looking for in their applicants. Michael's role on the RAAMP Board of Directors is to transfer his experience and ability to engage business and community in an effective way that supports the mission of RAAMP and the services RAAMP provides to the community.
Michael is currently Sr. Director of Business Development for Goodwill Industries of the Greater East Bay. In this role Michael is the sales face for the Agency and is responsible for the expansion of Agency social enterprise businesses, development of strategic relationships, marketing and awareness of the Agency to the business community. In this role Michael is mindful of not only the need for the Agency to grow, but also how this growth impacts the community and those most in need.
This level of business savvy combined with a clear understanding of the social services that RAAMP provides to the community are a valuable asset to RAAMP, its students and the community.
